City of Corgath
Once a simple mining town, Corgath blossomed not only into a mighty city but also into a powerful kingdom that controlled much of the Northeast of Legere. The Corgathian Kingdom's capital was surrounded by a massive, thick wall that successfully repelled invaders an endless number of times over hundreds of years. This citadel-shaped city stood as a mighty bastion of Corgathian culture.
City Sections #
The city was symmetrical both longitudinally and latitudinally, with six quadrants. At the outermost edges, the Sprawls (Northeast, Southeast, Northwest, Southwest) were densely populated areas where the majority of Corgath's citizens lived. At the intersections of each sprawl were the East and West Quartermarkets. These city squares were hubs of commerce in the city, where quaint shops faced the center of cobblestone open spaces. The North and South stars were the regal areas of the capital city, where the highest echelon of society resided and interacted. These stars were open only to the nobles, and laymen were kept from them. In the center of it all was the Royal Gardens, the jewel of the city, a vibrant public park. This garden mixed open areas, miniature forests, and fields of flowers and exotic plants. Crossing through the park was a busy road that allowed people to move from the east to the west of the city. In the very middle of the Royal Gardens was the castle of Corgath, which was the heavily fortified home of Corgathian royalty.
Demographics #
The typical population of Corgath was separated from the noblemen via the North and South stars, where the rich were sequestered from the laymen.
Defences #
The headquarters of the Corgathian Military were located in Corgath. Additionally, a well-trained city guard ensured unrest in the streets was quelled quickly. These assets, as well as the highly fortified city walls, protected it from danger.
Infrastructure #
